How the Freeform Rom-Com Tackles Romance During Quarantine (Exclusive)

Like many ideas, Freeform’s Love in the Time of Corona was borne out of a conversation. It was the end of April — more than a month into quarantine — and executive producer Joanna Johnson was preparing for the third season of Good Trouble in the virtual writers’ room when she and her manager, Robyn Meisinger, had a frank discussion about dating during quarantine. Through that conversation, Meisinger shared that she had begun seeing someone she met virtually. The wheels started turning in Johnson’s head.

“Not just people looking for love because they’re lonely, but people that are quarantining at home with their families or quarantining in a marriage and aren’t used to being together 24/7,” Johnson told ET of the idea’s origination. “I read a few articles and I started to think of ideas and interesting dynamics that could be [explored].” A quick email pitch to Freeform

New Stamford Dog Daycare Emphasizes Transparency, Comfort

STAMFORD, CT — Like most pet parents, Scott Jones considers his three dogs, a 2-year-old Yorkie and two older Malteses, to be his children. So much so that his wife, Elisa, would often tell the trio to “go with daddy” when they left the house for dog daycare.

The couple, who now own Dogtopia of Stamford, have had their dogs in a number of daycare facilities over the years, yet they often ran into the same problem at each one: transparency.

“We’ve had our dogs in daycares for years,” Jones said in an interview with Patch, “and we came across Dogtopia while looking for a better option for our dogs that provided transparency.”

According to Jones, most dog daycare facilities did not offer them any kind of look behind the scenes, leaving them yearning for a greater sense of comfort about leaving their beloved pets for hours each day.

The Trump-whisperer’s rapid fall from grace

Former White House strategist Stephen Bannon at Roy Moore rally - 11 December 2017
Former White House strategist Stephen Bannon at Roy Moore rally – 11 December 2017

In the end, the master provocateur ended up provoking the wrong person in the wrong way at the wrong time.

Until August 2017, Steve Bannon was arguably the second most powerful man in Washington. The president’s one-time chief strategist was the puller of strings, the Trump-whisperer, revelling in his role as an agent of chaos.

After the 2016 election, he was among “the best talent in politics” – in Trump’s words.

Then he became “Sloppy Steve”, a derogatory nickname used by the US president after Bannon was quoted in a book saying several things that appear to have made his former boss unhappy.

One example that made headlines was that the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr, had committed a “treasonous” act in talking to Russians.

Bannon’s backers cut their ties with him, he left the powerful

Bark Life In Seminole Voted America’s Coolest Pet Store

SEMINOLE, FL — At a time when businesses are struggling through the continuing coronavirus pandemic, a small business catering to pets is not only thriving, it’s garnering a national reputation.

Bark Life, a specialty pet retailer in Seminole that features boarding, daycare and grooming services, has been named “America’s Coolest Pet Store” after taking first place in a nationwide contest put on by pet industry publication Pets+ magazine.

The store was chosen first among dozens of finalists who were judged by a panel of editorial staff and retail experts on the basis of their history, business practices, interior and exterior design, customer experience, marketing, community involvement and online presence.

The judges liked Bark Life’s “resort-style vibe” and the simple, clean layout, which they said, “…appears to thrive on meeting customers’ needs with ease.” They also liked the waterproof, vinyl-plank floors and noise-reducing walls in the 68-room boarding facility as well

Here’s how parents can cut back-to-school costs for remote learning

True to form, the pandemic has infiltrated another time-honored tradition: back-to-school season.

With millions of Americans already struggling financially, sending children back to school got more expensive with spending up nearly $100 from the previous year to an average of $789.49 per family, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).

“By any measure, this is an unprecedented year with great uncertainty, including how students will get their education this fall, whether they are in kindergarten or college,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said.

Parents of school-aged children are now spending more money on supplies, so their young scholars are poised to learn online, in person, or a hybrid of the two — with the understanding that their current arrangement might change at a moment’s notice.

How eBay and Etsy Became the Menswear Cognoscenti’s Favorite Stores

The best-dressed men appreciate clothes with character and a good story. And in the wee hours of the morning, many of them can be found doing the same thing: scouring eBay and Etsy. Sometimes it’s with a purpose, and sometimes not—that’s part of the fun. The boxes that mysteriously surface days or weeks later, depending on how far-flung the search terms went (often to Japan), arrive with a sweet sense of victory that new clothes rarely have. That safari jacket from the 1970s looks better than what you’ve seen lately because, in many ways, it is. These guys know that. They also know how to track these pieces down and make them look modern, which is the art of wearing anything vintage well.

Boxes with handwritten labels from Kansas to England show up at my house regularly, filled with what seems like the entire archive from Ralph Lauren’s Polo Country:

  • The Taycan, Porsche’s first EV, will have an available rose gold paint color starting in 2021.

  • That’s along with several new features for 2021, like automatic payments for public charging, a new battery-preservation system, and lots of new interior and exterior choices.

  • Porsche has revealed 2021 pricing yet, but the 2020 Taycan starts at around $104,000.

  • Orders for 2021 models will open in the fourth quarter of the year, and deliveries are expected in Q1 of 2021.

  • Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.

There’s a lot to like about the Porsche Taycan EV, as there is with most material objects over $100,000. But for its first year on the market, there was one glaring hole in the options list for the all-electric sport sedan: a rose gold paint

100 things to do while stuck inside due to a pandemic

As concerts are postponed, sporting events are canceled, schools are closed and tourist hot spots are shut down, experts recommend that even those who show no sign of illness stay home during this time of global pandemic.

That’s right: It’s advised that you self-quarantine.

Although remaining inside is a good way to protect yourself and others from the coronavirus, and is an important measure to help “flatten the curve” of daily cases that put pressure on our health care system, it could lead to a lesser evil: boredom and stir craziness.

What’s there to do while stuck indoors? We’ve compiled 100 suggestions to help make your time quarantined as interesting – and perhaps even as productive – as possible.
