The year is 2020 and the one thing topping everyone’s must-buy list is face masks. With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continuing to recommend that everyone wear cloth face coverings while in public and with many states and businesses requiring them, face masks have become quite the hot commodity.
There are hundreds of retailers selling face masks online in almost every color, style, and materials imaginable. But which ones are the most popular that still have good protection? While our experts have tested some of the top-selling face masks (and ranked them from best to worst), we’ve also analyzed our data to find which face masks people can’t stop buying. Below are the 10 most popular face masks right now, including those from Athleta, Vistaprint, and even Disney.

Of all the face masks our experts have tested, we found these ones from Athleta to be the very best. They’re comfortable, breathable and have both adjustable straps and a wire nose piece so you can customize the fit. Even better? The triple-layered masks come in a bevy of pretty hues and patterns, from plain black to camo.

2. Vote Face Masks
With Election Day right around the corner, a lot of retailers are releasing vote-themed merch, including vote face masks. Two of the most popular options out there include this trendy Quay face mask which is a collaboration with Lizzo and this black-and-white mask from Etsy which has more than 2,000 positive reviews.
The brand behind Instagram’s favorite swimsuit also sells highly-rated face masks. When our apparel expert tested out the Summersalt face coverings, she liked that they’re made of thick, triple-layered cotton and that they fit snugly, yet comfortably around your face for maximum protection.

It’s tough to find an affordable mask that also has a filter—but that’s exactly what you’ll get with one of Vida protective masks. Made of two layers of pure cotton and adjustable ear loops, the masks come with a multi-layer PM2.5 Filter that lasts for up to seven days before needing to be replaced. You can also opt to donate masks to communities in need when you purchase your own.

5. Old Navy
There are a lot of things I love about the face masks from Old Navy—they’re comfortable, cute, and budget-friendly (you can get a 5-pack for just $12.50!). And I’m not alone in my opinion, as the Old Navy masks continue to be some of the top-selling ones on the market. They’re made of 3-ply breathable cotton and available in variety packs like florals, plaid, and even holiday-themed.

Rainbow, floral, striped, solid—no matter what print or pattern you’re looking for, you’ll likely find it at Vistaprint, which has a huge selection of face masks. While they weren’t our experts’ favorite face masks after testing, the Vistaprint masks do have some positive traits, like their soft fabric, included filters, and comfortable fit (including an adjustable nosepiece and adjustable straps).

The brand’s name says it all: These are truly the face masks of champions. While there are plenty of patterns and styles available from Champion, my favorite is the Lay Flat Wicking face mask. I put a bunch of masks to the test while exercising and found the Champion to be the best mask for working out thanks to its sweat-wicking and breathable material.
