Kalani and Asuelu’s 90 Day Fiancé relationship was almost on the verge of failing. Here’s an update on the TLC couple after the dramatic Tell-All.

Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa from season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé have been through quite a few ups and downs on their journey. The couple who returned to TLC with 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? brought along even more problems with no solutions in sight. Their financial disagreements soon snowballed with the inclusion of Kalani’s altercations with Asuelu’s family. Kalani’s Samoan husband walked out of the Tell-All episode and left 90 Day Fiancé fans wondering about the future of their relationship. So are Asuelu and Kalani still at odds or are they living their “best of the best” life together?

Kalani from Orange County, California, met Asuelu on her first trip to Samoa in 2016 where she saw him shirtless and took an instant liking. Although the 90 Day Fiancé star’s Mormon faith didn’t allow her to get physical before marriage, Kalani, 32, lost her virginity to Asuelu on her second Samoan trip. Kalani’s family didn’t approve of her love for Asuelu, 25, and thought he was doing this to gain American citizenship. His not being present for their son Oliver’s birth made matters worse, but later, Asuelu came to the States on a K-1 visa for “more opportunities.” He flaunted his Samoan dance skills and Kalani soon gave birth to baby number two, Kennedy. The 90 Day Fiancé couple did tie the knot in 2018, but their marriage was rife with money issues. Asuelu’s immaturity and irresponsible behavior as a father created the cracks and his mother Lesina added more fuel to the feud by asking Kalani for money. His sister Tammy was also seen threatening other 90 Day Fiancé cast members of physical abuse on the Tell-All. But while Lesina apologized to a popcorn-eating Kalani, Asuelu stormed off and blocked his wife, shocking everyone watching. And, Asuelu still seems to be separated from Kalani at the moment.

Thankfully, the distance between Kalani and Asuelu this time is only hopefully helping strengthen their relationship. Asuelu shared a cryptic Instagram post with the caption, “Having fun with these boys before daddy leave,” which hinted at another separation. However, it was the 90 Day Fiancé star leaving for a Samoan dance performance at the Tuacahn Theater 2020 after securing a new job at a Polynesian entertainment company, Siva Pasefika. The couple, who was also slated to appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Strikes Back showed up for the first episode, but Kalani admitted that they were having issues.

Kalani told the cameras that she and Asuelu haven’t been on the best of terms lately. “I don’t know, we’ve been going through quite a bit of a rough patch, as we have for the most part of our relationship,” added the 90 Day Fiancé star. Kalani confessed that on the show, it would be best for them to just laugh at everything that happens as they revisit old episodes from the season, “instead of getting upset.” Kalani said that she was looking forward to having a good time and “make light of the bad things that happen and enjoy all the good stuff that happens.” The 90 Day Fiancé pair discussed the scene where Asuelu is seen offering frozen yogurt samples at Dixie Nutrition and laughed at his upset stomach before Kalani mentioned that Asuelu now had two jobs. “You’re a very busy guy these days,” she exclaimed while looking at her husband and also declared that Asuelu now plays volleyball once in two weeks, unlike his earlier routine.

The tensions between the 90 Day Fiancé couple were quite evident during the episode but as mentioned by Kalani, they were trying their best of the best to make it work. A preview for the next episode has their baby boys join Kalani and Asuelu in reviewing the second episode and considering the show must’ve been shot at least a month ago, the Samoan man is currently on his dance tour. Although the couple could be going through their perennial rough patch, Asuelu has pulled up his socks to be the “man of the house” as he always wished to be. But will them going through these constant conflicts guarantee Kalani and Asuelu’s return for another 90 Day Fiancé spin-off?
