BAY CITY, MI — Bay City’s Midland Street has a new gallery and showroom offering fine art consignment and commercial art services.

The Art Dept. opened in December at 805 E. Midland St. Co-founder and artist Myles Roznowski said visitors will find modern and abstract art, furniture, antiques, signs, graphic art and more.

“It’s the perfect location for us,” he said of the Midland Street Business District. “It’s a good spot for an art gallery.”

Roznowski founded the Art Dept. along with Dustin Hartz, Drew Schmidt and Kyles Sajdak.

The Art Dept. is “committed to providing top-tier commercial art services throughout Michigan and beyond, while showcasing local fine art in a cozy gallery environment,” according to its mission statement. Art Dept. offers commercial art services, art consignment, CNC routing, custom sign making, vinyl graphics, features walls, boat lettering, custom fine art and graphic design.

Roznowski said he and his partners also plan to use the space to host live music and artists’ receptions when circumstances allow.

“We’re hoping once bars can open up again, you know, and the street’s more lively, we’ll see a lot more traffic,” he said. “We’re excited to have people walk in our doors and have events as soon as we’re able to.”

Art Dept. is open from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Visit www.artdeptbc.com to learn more and to buy art online.
