John Lewis has opened its 2020 Christmas shop, a hub of festive inspiration, at the flagship Oxford Street store. But this year you can visit from anywhere, as the magic has been captured virtually.

On a 3D tour of the Oxford Street shop, customers can “walk” through the Christmas store straight from their own homes. Using their computer, smartphone or tablet the public can visit the virtual shop, discover this year’s Christmas themes and shop items featured through the tagged products function.

This year’s Christmas flagship shop boasts its largest ever Christmas Tree forest, offering 40 different styles to walk through ranging from 4ft to a whopping 9ft tall.

The Festive Footpath sees 1,332 beautiful hanging green baubles decorate the shop floor lit up with 1,500 individual light bulbs.

And seven themes centred on artistic movements, are stunningly showcased to explore home trends.

Dan Cooper, Partner and Head of Christmas at John Lewis & Partners said in the press release: We know that Christmas might look a little different to our customers this year, with smaller celebrations at home and video calls to loved ones. But we also know that many are looking forward to the small joys that the festive season brings: from decorated fireplaces to wreaths on doors.”

“Our customers are planning earlier than ever to revel in the festivities and likely spread out the tasks to avoid any last minute rushes.

“This year we have created a Christmas shop that will of course delight and inspire our customers but we have also focused on making it a simple journey that means they can tick off their list happily and safely.”

We’ve already taken a look and it’s truly magical!

For those of us able to shop in person, John Lewis stores across the country will be opening local Christmas shops over the next couple of week!
