Moberly’s Community Betterment’s July’s Yard of the Month Winner, Steve and Jane Loeber, were presented with the monthly award on July 1.
The Loeber’s residence is at 1215 Cedar Ridge Dr and the couple was given a gift certificate and gardening supplies as part of the prize package. Steve takes credit for the grass and Jane tends to the flowers they said.
Nominations for Yard of the Month were submitted by the public and those nominations were voted on by Moberly Ambassadors and Master Gardner’s. Nominations are now open for August Yard of the Month online at: bit.ly/yardofthemonth or in person at 211 W Reed St. The deadline for nominations is July 21.
Sponsors for June, July and August’s Yard of the Month are Westlake Ace Hardware, Ritter’s, Lowe’s and Orscheln Farm & Home.
Yard of the Month nominations can be made by anyone (local or non-local resident), and the yard has to be residential and within the city limits.
Nominations are due by the 21st of the month, to be considered for the following months award. August is the last month to win, until Christmas.
Moberly Community Betterment will open yard of the month back up for Christmas decorations. Yard of the Month runs from June- August and again in December.
All nominations are given to the Judges, compiled of Master Gardeners and Moberly Ambassadors. Each judge has a score card for each address, all the scores are totaled and the highest score is who the award goes to.
