This season is going to be a sprint and along the way, some players are going to make an immediate impact at new schools, including some of the highest-ranked prospects in the country.

NJ Advance Media has tracked transfers across the state this winter and highlighted 25 players that are expected to make an immediate impact on their new teams. Check out the post below to see a list of the top transfers and a comprehensive tracker of players on the move this winter.

TOP 25 IMPACT TRANSFERS

Aaron Bradshaw, Camden, So. (Transfer from Roselle Catholic)

A 7-footer, Bradshaw will add to the inside toughness Camden possesses and certainly block or alter his fair share of shots for those who dare enter the paint. He’s the No. 5 player in the state for the Class of 2023 by PrepHoops and No. 19 nationally. Capable of taking his game outside as well, Bradshaw already owns offers from Nebraska, TCU and Texas A&M.

Tazir Cantey, Eastern, Sr. (Transfer from Lindenwold)

Among the state’s leading scorers a year ago at better than 25 points per game, Cantey gives Eastern a dynamic, playmaking point guard. He’s not afraid to attack the basket or pull up from the perimeter and is just what the Vikings ordered with the loss of several key players to graduation.

Donavin Crawford, Nottingham, Sr. (Transfer from Trenton Catholic)

Crawford averaged 10.5 points per game a year ago at Trenton Catholic and now he’s bringing that scoring ability to a very talented Nottingham team. The 6-foot-4 senior is going to make the Northstars even more dynamic this winter as Nottingham looks to prove that it’s the best team in the Colonial Valley Conference.

Zion Cruz, Patrick School, Jr. (Transfer from Hudson Catholic)

Cruz is a 5-star prospect who originally was set to land at Oak Hill in Virginia. Instead, the talented junior now finds himself at Patrick School this winter. Patrick School is no longer a member of the NJSIAA, but this is still one of the best teams overall in the state. Cruz will get a chance to shine as one of the top players for the Union County squad this winter.

Rasheer Fleming, Camden, Jr. (Transfer from Gloucester)

A 6-6 forward, Fleming enjoyed a breakout season last year. He recorded 16 double-doubles and proved to be a major impact player. Fleming averaged 13.7 points, 10.9 rebounds and nearly two blocks per game. With the wealth of talent Camden has this season, look for him to emerge as more of a role player. The numbers might not show it but he can definitely continue to make an impact in a variety of ways.

Aidenn Gorombey-Kelly, Johnson, Jr. (Transfer from Roselle Park)

Johnson dominated Roselle Park twice last season, but never came close to breaking either Gorombey-Kelly’s concentration or spirit. The talented perimeter threat scored 12 points in the first meeting and 24 in the second game. He sank 56 field goals from 3-point range and averaged 13.5 ppg. as a sophomore.

Isaac Hester, Ranney, So. (Transfer from Gill St. Bernard’s)

Ranney was a young team last year, but the Shore Conference squad now brings back a ton of experience and adds Hester to the mix. As a rookie, Hester was one of the go-to players for Gill St. Bernard’s. He’ll now be one of the top playmakers for a Ranney team that is looking to show that it belongs among the state’s elite teams in 2021.

Isaiah Hill, Columbia, Sr. (Transfer from Union Catholic)

Hill’s defining moment for Union Catholic last season came when he exploded for a career-high 29 points to fuel a 53-44 upset over No. 10 Hudson Catholic. The 6-3 guard, who will immediately help Columbia with his defense and his hops, holds D1 offers from NJIT and St. Francis (Pa.).

Mike Jackson, Union City, Sr. (Transfer from Marist)

The 6-2 guard knocked down 66 shots from 3-point range and averaged 15.2 ppg. last season for now-closed Marist. Jackson hit a season-high six from behind the line in a loss to Gill St. Bernard’s. He and junior Maurice Odum (86, 3 pointers) will be stretching out a lot of defenses this winter with their range.

Shy’heed Jenkins-Floyd, Union City, Jr. (Transfer from Snyder)

The 5-10 Jenkins-Floyd was a steady scoring source (12.3 ppg.) and one of Hudson County’s most feared backcourt defenders (4.3 steals per game) as only a junior last season for 20-6 Snyder. His family’s move to Union City sure has the Soaring Eagles feeling good about the new year.

Asim Jones, Paterson Charter, Jr. (Transfer from Manchester Regional)

Jones is one of the top scorers coming back in the state this winter after averaging 17.4 points per game last season. The junior will be scoring for a new team this year and he’ll look to make an immediate impact along with Jahsair Rosa, who also came over from Manchester Regional. Both players are expected to be in the starting lineup for Paterson Charter.

Gavin Kreitz, Seton Hall Prep, Jr. (Transfer from Ridge)

The perimeter threat the 5-11 Kreitz poses will make Seton Hall’s interior people seem a little taller and accord senior guard Giye Jenkins more freedom for dribble drives. Kreitz knocked down 68 shots from 3-point range on his way to averaging 14.9 ppg. for Ridge as a sophomore. He buried eight treys in a victory over Phillipsburg.

Jamarques Lawrence, Roselle Catholic, Jr. (Transfer from Plainfield)

The 6-2 Lawrence was a steady perimeter force for Plainfield last year, sinking 81 shots from 3-point range on his way to averaging 20 ppg. He connected on at least four 3-pointers in 11 games for the 15-11 Cardinals, including seven when he scored a season-high 39 points in a win over Union.

Jayden Lemond, Blair, So. (Transfer from Dwight-Englewood)

Lemond is a player on the rise and he now joins a strong team at Blair that will be tough to beat. He averaged 14.1 points per game a year ago at Dwight-Englewood. Lemond reclassified to the Class of 2023 and the sophomore has offers from Auburn and UConn and will be a player to watch this season.

Amar’e Marshall, Roselle Catholic, Sr. (Transfer from Montclair Immaculate)

This versatile guard averaged 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and he sank 56 buckets from 3-point range last season for Immaculate (21-7). The 6-3 Marshall turned in five double-doubles as a junior, including a 31-point, 10-rebound eruption to pace a victory over Columbia.

Daryl McGraw, St. Joseph (Hamm.), Jr. (Transfer from Ledyard (CT))

At Ledyard last season, McGraw averaged 3.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 21 games. While the numbers are clearly not off the charts, the senior gives the Wildcats additional size in the paint with his 6-9 frame.

Keith Mency, Hudson Catholic, Sr. (Transfer from Marist)

In one of Hudson Catholic’s final games last season, it saw Mency strike for 13 points, five rebounds and four steals in a 55-35 loss to Marist in the Hudson County Tournament semifinals. The 6-0 guard averaged 11.4 points, 3.6 assists and 2.1 steals as a junior.

Jamaal Morris & Jameel Morris, Trenton Catholic, Jr. (Transfers from Burlington City)

With Burlington City opting out of the winter season, the twins have stayed in the Burlington County League but moved over to TCA. Both scoring in double figures, they combined for 30 points a night last season – Jamaal was the team’s second-leading scorer at 16 a game, while Jameel averaged 14. Both have big-game experience and play with an edge. With Trenton Catholic closing at the end of the year, the brothers will have just one season to show just how dynamic a tandem they are.

Otega Oweh, Blair, Jr. (Transfer from Rutgers Prep)

Oweh was one of the best players for a loaded Rutgers Prep team a year ago, but he’ll be playing for Blair in 2021. The 6-foot-4 guard is a Top 100 player in his class and will be one of the top scorers to watch this season. Oweh averaged 14.9 points per game a year ago and is hoping to bring that same type of impact to Blair.

Saivon Pressley, Colonia, Jr. (Transfer from Wardlaw-Hartridge)

He averaged 5.6 ppg. as a freshman at St. Thomas Aquinas, raised that to 22.0 last season at Wardlaw-Hartridge, and now looks to bolster backcourt play for Colonia. Pressley connected for a career-high 36 points last season to spark a victory over Highland Park. The crafty defender also averaged more than six steals a game as a sophomore.

Sebastian Robinson, Elizabeth, So. (Transfer from Camden)

Robinson saw a decent amount of time at Camden last season, averaging 6.9 points in 21 appearances and 11.8 points over the final six games of the season. The 6-2 guard will help fill the void left when junior Jayden Pierre left for Long Island Lutheran.

Felix Romero, Plainfield, Sr. (Perth Amboy Tech)

The sting of losing shotmaker Jamarques Lawrence to Roselle Catholic will be eased somewhat by the productive presence of this 5-7 guard. Romero averaged 19.1points, 6.1 assists and 4.5 steals last season for Perth Amboy Tech.

Adam Silas, St. Thomas Aquinas, Jr. (Transfer from Marist)

The 6-3 Silas – who recently picked up an offer from Hofstra and has generated other D1 interest – averaged 8.8 points and 2.0 steals last season for since-closed Marist. His skill set as a shooter and defender adds teeth to St. Thomas’ impressive depth. Silas scored a season-high 20 points last year in a win over Hoboken.

Dom Thomas, St. Joseph (Hamm.), Sr. (Transfer from Clearview)

A 6-5 swingman, Thomas was a second team All-Royal Division pick last season in the Tri-County Conference. He averaged 10.8 points and 6.9 rebounds. Thomas is expected to bring added toughness and another scoring option to a St. Joseph team that is one of the best in the Cape-Atlantic League. A tough, rugged performer.

Nick Thomas, Montclair Immaculate, Sr. (Transfer from Phillips Andover Academy (MA)

The 6-6, 225-pound senior adds important heft in the lane for a team that will be facing a lot of big, talented opponents this season. Thomas, who hails from East Orange, also was an outstanding tight end for Phillips Andover.
